Supporting International Women’s Day
Last week held another important event for BCT Solutions: attendance at the International Women’s Day (IWD) breakfast sponsored by Engineers Australia and The Australian Institute of Project Management. Held at the Pialligo Estate Glasshouse, the event was a great opportunity for members of the BCT team to engage on the theme of ‘Balance for Better’.
The event had some amazing speakers:
- Romilly Madew AO, CEO, Green Building Council of Australia
- Raelene Lockhorst, Project Director, City Renewal Authority
- David Williams, Manager for Technology Coordination & Collaboration and 2019 ACT Local Hero
They provided some great insights on the practical strategies that can be applied to promote gender balance, celebrating how far we have come and embracing where we need to go. An important part of this was taking everyone on the journey – not just men, not just women, but everyone. This included understanding the contextual factors of sex, age, ethnicity, experience and culture.
David French, Kelly Alsop and Maddy Rentmeester had a great time engaging with the rest of the community on this theme. The team looks forward to participating in future activities that promote better balance in the workforce.
